The Power of Reflection

There is a reason why the windscreen is bigger than the rearview mirror. Where you are headed is more important than what you left behind

The Power of Reflection

There is something powerful that happens when we pause.

Not in the middle of chaos...

Not when emotions are high and everything feels overwhelming... But after.

When we give ourselves space to breath, to soften and come back to a place of calm - reflection begins when we see everything from a different angle. This is the space, everything can change.

When we change the way we look at things

This is a saying I have truly come to understand : When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

At first an experience can feel heavy.

Confusing and emotional.

And we react from what we know - from old patterns, old wounds and sometimes from fears we didn't even realise we were carrying.

But later... when we return to it with a calmer mind and an open heart, something shifts.

The same experience can look different, feel different & mean something different.

What did it Change in You?

Reflection isn't about reliving the moment, it's about understanding it.

It's about asking yourself :

  • What did that experience bring up in me?

  • Why did I react the way I did?

  • What was that really about?

Sometimes what we uncover surprises us.

A situation in the present can awaken something form the past - a fear, a belief, a feeling that has been sitting quietly in the nervous system, waiting to be seen.

Not to harm us, but to be acknowledged.

To be released.

From Reaction to Awareness

When we are in the moment, we often react.

That's human, that's protection.

That's the nervous system doing what it knows.

But reflection allows us to move from reaction... to awareness.

And awareness is where change begins.

Because once we see it, we can't unsee it.

Once we understand it, we have a choice.

The Moment that changes Direction

Every experience carries something within it - a lesson, a shift, a redirection.

The question is:

What did it change in you?

Maybe it showed you a boundary you didn't know you needed.

Maybe it revealed a fear you've been carrying for years.

Maybe it opened your eyes to a patten that's been quietly guiding your decisions or holding you back and in that awareness...

Your future begins to shift.

Because when you change internally, even in the smallest way, you naturally begin to choose differently.

And those choices, change the direction of your life.

A Gentle Pause

So today I invite you to pause.

Think of a recent experience - something that stirred something in you.

Not to judge it,

Not to analyse it too deeply but simply to sit with it... from a place of calm.

And gently ask : What was this here to show me?

The Journey Back to You

This is what The Journey Back to You , is all about.

Not just what happens to us but how we come to understand it.

How we grow through it.

How we allow it to shape us to who we truly are.

There are many stories to share,

Things that didn't make sense at the time...

But changed everything once I stopped and reflected.

The next time something feels overwhelming remember - you don't have to understand it in the moment.

Give it space...

Give yourself time.

Because sometimes it's not the experience itself that changes everything - it is the way you see it when you look back at it.
